Tent available for community use

The Interfaith Guild of Chaplains has a "4-person" (feels more like a 2-person) tent at the Occupy Portland headquarters.  It is open for check-outs by Occupy Portland-affiliated groups or individuals for up to 5 days at a time by advance reservation.  (First-come first-serve, generally speaking.  Use by the IGC takes precedence over others, and use by OPDX-recognized groups takes precedence over all individual or non-affiliated group uses.)

It is easy to set up and strike down even by a solo camper (even Sarah could do it in five minutes.).

Users are responsible for keeping the tent in a reasonably good (usable) condition and return it on time.  Any damage or loss of the tent requires a replacement.

To reserve the tent, write at least a week in advance, sarah "at" occupy.tk.

Our tent occupies in Scoggins Valley near Hagg Lake, Gaston, Oregon.

Due to the recent episodes of downtime and site malfunctions on PDXGA.org, we are for time being continuing to use our Facebook group.

Attention IGC members: An important reminder about migration

Important notice: Migration to PDXGA.org and inactive members

We are soon retiring the Facebook group and moving all internal group communications to PDXGA.org. For a movement that speaks out against corporate dominance it is only appropriate to take our part by lessening the Occupy movement's dependence on Facebook, which makes profits by selling your personal information to advertisers.

At the same time, we also would like to clean up this list a bit, as there are several people with whom we have never had any contact for at least six months.

A user account on PDXGA also gives you access to other committees, work groups, and caucuses.

1. If you have not done so, sign up for PDXGA account at http://www.portlandgeneralassembly.org/register/

2. Then go to http://www.portlandgeneralassembly.org/groups/interfaith-guild-of-chaplains to subscribe to the group.

You must complete both in order to be added to the IGC group on PDXGA.

If you do not take these actions by July 31, you will be removed from our membership roster.

Thanks,

Sarah Morrigan
IGC Coordinator
